CAIR Coalition Senior Attorney David Laing discusses how a Virginia Law Foundation grant supports the Virginia Justice Project, which trains hundreds of attorneys, develops legal resources, and provides consultations on criminal-immigration cases.
“We represent and work for a very vulnerable population,” said Laing. “These are non-citizens who are in immigration detention. They are at the worst stage of a possible immigration proceeding, and the VLF allows us to travel to them and to travel to the criminal defense attorneys who have been representing them.”
